这是为下步更换宝马525燃油滤芯的攻略。一般地讲汽车保养有三滤：“机滤（机油滤清器或叫机油滤芯）”、“气滤（空气滤芯）”、“燃油滤（如果叫汽油滤因为容易与空气滤芯混淆，所以叫燃油滤比较合适）”。其实另外还有一个滤叫“空调滤”，就是汽车空调的滤网。这个空调滤芯的叫法也有问题，英语里叫“cabin filter”，它的意思是“居室（空气）过滤网”，目前一般地都是带活性炭的“居室空气滤网”。这样加总起来，驾驶员应该知道的普通的保养项目是四个滤网。空调滤是最容易换的，其次是空气滤芯也很简单。比较复杂的是机滤，我也成功地换过不止一次了。四滤中只剩下燃油滤我没有动过手了，下一个目标就是它。宝马5系保养费用，这些年是省了不少的，能动手的就不劳宝马4S店了。你去宝马4S店，多花费用并不是在这些正常的保养费用，而且张飞他妈（无是生非的费用）。

1、 Make sure the fuel tank is near empty.yes the fuel pump, the fuel filter and all lines work in gasoline. so more attention.

2、 An extinguisher should be standby.

3、 Work in a well ventilated area.

4、 Disconnect battery negative cable to disable the pump's power.

5、 Lift up the rear seat and remove.

6、 Go to the drivers side, pull back the mat, you will see access panel with 4 bolts (10mm). Remove those 4 bolts, remove that metal access panel.

7、 Put some rags on top of the fuel line and remove that fuel line (squeeze on the tabs and lift up). CAREFUL slowly lift up that connector, fuel is pressurized and comes out fast. I wrapped couple of pieces of cloths on the line while slowly lifting up. When the pressure is fully released, set the line aside.

8、 With a Fuel tank cover tool undo the large collar nut.remember,professional tool, avoiding and damage to the underneath filter. Remove the collar nut and set aside.

9、 Lift up the fuel filter assembly. You will see a large connector on the bottom, push the pin, and remove the connector.

10、 On the very bottom portion of the fuel filter, there is a flat surface. You will see an electrical connector, remove it.

11、You will see L shaped pin, push it down while pulling that entire connector away.

12、The last picture shows all the connectors removed (looking in to the fuel tank). All those cables/connectors are coming from the fuel pump on the passengers side and they are connected to the fuel pump.

13、When I disconnected the fuel filter, most of the dirty fuel in the filter dropped back in to the tank. So, I took a sponge and emptied the remaining fuel in the tank.

14、Position the new fuel filter in to the position; attach the electrical connector to the new fuel filter. Connect all the fuel lines to the filter. Take your time to make sure everything is connected properly. You can't make a mistake; all connectors go one-way only.

15、Remove old seal ring on collar and put the new seal that came with the fuel filter.

16、Lower the fuel filter in to position, you will have to push it down slightly since the spring pushes the filter up against the access panel.pay attention to the fuel level sensor, make it function.

17、Line up the fuel filter, collar ring nut and tighten. Reconnect the fuel line. Wipe off the area, reconnect battery negative cable. Start the car (it will take some cranking to pressurize and prime the lines). When you are sure no leaks, put back the access panel, tighten 4 bolts. Place the rear seat in it's position.
