The date is 30 September, 2016. I left Dandong heading to Jinzhou, on a driving tour from eastmost tip to westmost of Liaoning Province. Dandong is on the china-North Korea border, small city; and Jinzhou Southwestern city of Liaoning Province. It's the first time I made my way through Liaoning province by car. The name of Liaoning, I think, comes from Liao dynasty, or Daliao. The Liao stemmed from Qidan, that is to say, the early Liao originated from Qidan. Liao people dominated northern china for over 100 years, largely nomadic group. They paralleled with Northern Song dynasty which occupied central china. And for a long time Song and Liao were at war with each other.
